PROFILE
Over a decade ago I decided to make a major change in my life and turn my passion for the game of golf into a career. After graduating from St. Lawrence University in 2008 (B.S. Economics) and taking a job in wealth management, I returned to school and received a Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management from SUNY Cobleskill.
This new path provided the opportunity for an internship at Oak Hill (Rochester, New York), where I was fortunate enough to remain on staff as a Second Assistant through the 2013 PGA Championship. Building on the experience and relationships I gained at Oak Hill, I accepted a position as First Assistant Superintendent at The Round Hill Club in Greenwich, CT, where I spent the next seven years advancing my career. It was at Round Hill where my skills and leadership abilities truly flourished, ultimately leading to an opportunity to serve as Golf Course Superintendent at Green Brook Country Club in North Caldwell, New Jersey. After several successful years at Green Brook, I was presented with the opportunity to take on my current role as Golf Course Superintendent at Longshore in Westport, CT.
Golf was, is, and will always be a sport near and dear to my heart. My strong understanding of the intricacies of the game, its rich history, and classical architecture has helped make me a strong Superintendent. It is important for a Superintendent to cater to all levels of skill, and I apply this thought process to my daily decisions.
Combining a strong educational foundation with extensive championship-level turf management experience has given me the tools to excel in the golf course management industry. Since beginning my career in the field, I have been intentional about seeking opportunities that would accelerate my growth and broaden my experience. Working alongside leading Superintendents at some of the Northeast’s most respected golf courses has challenged me to continually raise my standards and develop the expertise necessary to succeed at the highest level.
My experience has given me a strong agronomic foundation and the ability to successfully execute a wide range of agronomic and construction practices on complex playing surfaces while maintaining consistently exceptional course conditions. I believe consistency is paramount. My experiences at Oak Hill, Round Hill, Green Brook, and Longshore have continued to build upon one another, providing me with the knowledge and perspective necessary to lead a highly successful golf course operation. I am excited about the opportunity to bring that experience and perspective to the next stage of my career.
